Graduate: Stanford Law School, Mediation and Mediation Advocacy, June, 2003

Hastings College of Law, J.D. 1965

University of California, Berkeley, A.B. 1962

Member: American Board of Trial Advocates, San Francisco Chapter, 1995-present

I have accomplished a commitment to provide neutrality which is a result and product of my career as a trial lawyer since my graduation from law school. With the State Department of Transportation in San Francisco, I defended many catastrophic injury cases, numerous inverse condemnation actions and a host of eminent domain trials throughout the Central Valley from Bakersfield to Stockton and on the Coast from Santa Barbara to Eureka. In 1990, I left public service to become a member of the law firm of Cox, Garrett & Nagle which firm specialized in eminent domain representing property owners in dispute with the government. In 1995, I formed the Law Office of Thomas C. Nagle and continue to enjoy the practice of eminent domain representing private parties affected by government takings. I have practiced on both sides of the equation, both plaintiff and defense, and have acquired the ability to not only listen, but to understand the parties without bias as an obstacle to gaining confidence.

I commenced my Alternative Dispute Resolution practice as a volunteer to the local Superior Courts in the Bay Area and word of mouth and early success together with a zeal for the practice proved positive and convinced me to obtain formal training in the field. I am a graduate of the first Mediation & Mediation Advocacy Training Program given at the Gould Center for Conflict Resolution Programs at the Stanford Law School in 2003.
